Tibetan Monks Breakdance in Honor of MCA Day [VIDEO]

On Saturday (May 3), the 3rd annual MCA Day was held in New Yor to honor Beastie Boys rapper Adam “MCA” Yauch, who passed away on May 4, 2012 from cancer.

The event was held in the late rapper’s hometown of Brooklyn, N.Y. The festivities included live music, art and dance.

A day before the event, a group of Tibetan monks decided to pay homage to MCA in their own way. The B-boy monks started breakdancing in Union Square in his honor. The group’s acrobatic moves were fluid and quite impressive.

Meanwhile, at MCA Day, bands performed a variety of Beastie Boys tunes.

Below is a group performing the trio’s classic party anthem, ‘(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party).’
