Mobb Deep Twitter Beef: Havoc Denies Bashing Prodigy, Says Phone Was Stolen
He didn’t exactly convince hosts DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne tha God, but renowned New York rapper Havoc called in to Power 105.1′s Breakfast Club this morning to deny slamming Mobb Deep partner Prodigy via Twitter.
Echoing claims he made an official statement, Havoc said his phone had been stolen, and that as a result, he was not behind the flurry of vicious tweets that emerged yesterday morning. Whoever was manning the @THEREALHAVOC account accused Prodigy of engaging in homosexual acts while in prison on gun charges.
“I got n—as in the jail system to to back up that prodigy was f—ing homes in jail,” read one tweet, according to MTV.com. “Now i will silence… and let the jails take care of the rest.”
Havoc told the Breakfast Club crew that he left his phone at a gas station, and that whoever picked it up must have used his password-saving app to hack his account. That might explain why the tweets came from the web — not the rapper’s phone — but it doesn’t explain how the alleged fake tweeter knew that Hav and Prodigy were planning to meet today (April 10) with their accountant.
“How’d the person that stole your phone happen to know this information,” Yee asks.
Hav doesn’t really answer the question, nor does he explain a taped phone conversation in which a man who sounds remarkably like him makes additional derogatory remarks about Prodigy.
“You were drunk; you aired him out, but y’all cool again,” one of the Power 105.1 DJs says, trying to get Havoc to fess up. “That’s all you’ve got to say.”
“That’s not it at all,” Havoc responds. To be continued.
