Missy Elliott Releasing Two Singles Over Labor Day Weekend, Timbaland Tweets

Missy Elliott fans have waited a long time for new music -- her last album, The Cookbook, dropped more than seven years ago -- but by this time next week, we'll have some fresh jams to blast at our holiday cookouts. That's the word from Timbaland, who took to Twitter on Friday (Aug. 24) to announce the Labor Day release of two Missy singles.

"oh snapp yall my sista @MissyElliott is droppin her singles #9thinning and #triplethreat labor day weekend," the legendary producer tweeted. "watch it world we backk!!!"

Back in April, Timbaland joined Missy in performing both "9th Inning" and "Triple Threat" at a special show in New York City. Unfortunately, Timbo didn't say when or how the songs will surface, so we'll all just have to keep our eyes glued to Twitter from Friday onward.
