Missy Elliott's innovative prowess is limitless--so it's no wonder Marc Jacobs chose the rhymer as his muse for Fall '16 campaign.

"From the moment I heard 'The Rain' back in 1997, I was entranced by the genius rhythms and brilliant rhymes of Missy Elliott," read an Instagram post by Jacobs. "Missy’s music has kept me and my design team happily energized through countless weekdays, weeknights and weekends during those long hours of sketching, fitting, styling and doing looks. In addition to the boundless energy of her music are the visually pulsating and wildly cartoon-like music videos she made in collaboration with the talented and visionary, Hype Williams. I am in continued awe of Missy’s ability to push the boundaries of the style of music both to the eye and to the ear."

Jacobs continue to gush over the "Supa Dupa Fly" rapper in his post. "It was a dream of mine to work with her," he said next to a portrait of Elliot for the Fall '16 campaign.

Elliott has been making waves since she appeared in 2015s Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside Katy Perry. Afterwards, she released two singles -- the super hype Pharrell-featured song, "WTF" and motivating track "Pep Rally." She's also slated to be honored at this year's VH1's Hip Hop Honors alongside Queen Latifah.

While she's always been a fashion icon (remember the garbage bag dress?), it's nice to see her getting the acknowledgement she deserves in the high fashion industry.

Missy herself "enjoyed" being the belle of the ball as well. "I truly enjoyed being photographed for @marcjacobs fall campaign," read her tweet. "#Humbled & he got some clothes [fire emoji] to! Ayyye."

Ayyye indeed.Check out the flawless portrait of Missy above and her tweet below.
