Mint Condition's eighth studio album, Music @ the Speed of Life, due in September, features some hip-hop heavy names including DJ Jazzy Jeff and Brother Ali.

The forthcoming effort, which serves as a follow-up to their 2011 LP 7, was born out of each of the members' day-to-day experiences.

"Life was our inspiration; fast-paced, multifaceted, adventurous and ever-changing," the group shares. "Our music is drawn from various sources, and the lyrics speak to the hard knocks as well as the triumphs of life."

Jazzy Jeff appears on the funky ode "Girl of My Life," which describes one of the band members' experience as the odd man out in the search for love as he witnessed the rest of the band settling down. "Completely" is a ballad centered on accepting one's place in life and "649 Changes" features Brother Ali and the M-Factory Horns.

The R&B set, comprised of Stokley Williams, Ricky Kinchen, Homer O'Dell, Larry Waddell and Jeffrey Allen, released their debut album, Meant to be Mint, in 1991. "Breakin' My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)," a single featured on the LP, was a major success for Mint Condition.
