Miguel’s Leg Drop Victim Could Have Brain Damage

Miguel's infamous leg drop on a woman's head at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards made headlines everywhere last month. While the public thought the ordeal was old news, considering the victim appeared happily in an interview alongside the singer after the show, it's far from over. Now, the victim claims she may have brain damage as a result of the harrowing incident.

Khyati Shah, the woman the R&B star landed on while leaping across the stage during his performance of "Adorn," apparently has issues that are "cognitive in nature," according to her lawyer, Vip Bhola.

"Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury," Bhola told TMZ.

In the interview following the awards show, Shah was given an ice pack for her injury, which Bhola says was a "pathetic gesture". He states the show should have handled Shah's injuries with more seriousness and rushed her to the hospital.

When Miguel spoke with a reporter after hitting Shah in the head, he admitted that he was caught up in his performance. "The crazy thing is, when you're performing and you're just kind of into it, you never know where it's gonna go and where you're gonna go with it, and how that might turn out," he said. "So this is one of the less favorable moments."
