Miguel and Fan Are ‘Okay’ After Crazy Kick at 2013 Billboard Music Awards

Last night at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, all the talk wasn't surrounding who walked home with the top honor; it was centered on Miguel kicking a fan during his performance of "Adorn."

As he belted out his vocals, moving about the stage, no one could have guessed what would happen at the end of his set. The singer tried to jump from one side of the stage to another, a pit of people under his soaring body. What happened next was the worst thing viewers at home and the people in the pit could imagine: Miguel drop kicked a woman and hit another one on the way down.

However, it doesn't seem likely the woman will be looking to take the "Kaleidoscope Dream" creator for everything he's worth. After the show, the two appeared backstage and spoke with Billboard about the incident.

"Well, I think it's kind of clear what happened," Miguel stated. "But I'm very happy to bring my new friend, Khyati, we just met . Unfortunately we did not meet under the best circumstances, but I think we're okay."

She appeared to be happy with just being by the singer's side. "I adorn him," she said.

Overall, he's thankful Khyati wasn't seriously injured. "The crazy thing is, when you're performing and you're just kind of into it, you never know where it's gonna go and where you're gonna go with it, and how that might turn out," he said. "So this is one of the less favorable moments."
