Oprah Winfrey recently traveled to California to record a rare interview with several of the more media-shy members of Michael Jackson's family.

According to the Associated Press, Winfrey visited the family's Encino, Calif. home to film an hour-long family tell-all about the day the King of Pop died, including an extensive interview with Michael's mother, Katherine Jackson (pictured), and his three children, Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and Prince Michael II (aka Blanket), 8.

During the "backyard visit," Katherine Jackson is said to have given a rare insight into her son's childhood, the events that occurred on the day of his death, and her wrongful death suit against promoter AEG.

It has also been reported that, in order to avoid confrontation, several members of the Jackson family were not invited to the taping. The producers of the show are also reportedly attempting to shoot an interview with Debbie Rowe, biological mother of Michael's eldest children, Prince Michael and Paris.

The special is scheduled to air on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' on Monday, Nov. 8 on ABC.
