The relationship between Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill has flourished since his release from prison. After many ruminated on the rumored relationship, the two constantly teased their social media followers with a bevy of photos showing their affection for one another. Still, despite all of that P.D.A., it appears that the couple isn't as close to jumping that broom as we once thought.

After flaunting a sparkling heart-shaped ring in April, many speculated that Nicki and Meek were engaged. In the newest cover story for Fader featuring Meek, he dispelled all of the rumors and said that the two lovebirds aren't engaged.

“It’s definitely real,” he says of their relationship, “but it ain’t really time to get married yet. We’re still learning each other, feeling each other out.”

Meek noted during the interview that friends and family congratulated him on the engagement, when in reality, there never was one to begin with. Even Drake came forth and showed love to Meek and Nicki, which perplexed the Philly rapper.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Dreams Worth More Than Money creator addressed his stint in jail and his frustrations with the judicial system. His father's death in his hometown sparked his ill feelings toward police.

“My dad got killed in South Philly, ain’t nobody save him. The cops didn’t save him, and I don’t even think about the cops saving me, so I just took action to protect myself...When you’re telling me I’m not s---, you got to look at it from my point of view," Meek shared. "I always wanted to say this to the judge: ‘Think about your son. If your son grew up in the neighborhood, and his father was dead, but he’s able to rise up above it all and start taking care of you, your mother, and your whole family? He’s taking responsibility."

A man that is somewhat a father figure in the rhymer's life these days is his longtime mentor Rick Ross, whom Meek spoke highly of. The Maybach Music Group leader has changed his life in addition to his family’s lives, but it's Meek's grandmother who has a soft spot for the bawse. "Ross met my grandma a lot of times. She thinks Rick Ross is her boyfriend. She’s like, ‘Where my baby at," he revealed.

Even though Nicki Minaj and Meek aren't ready to take that walk down the aisle, we wouldn't be surprised if wedding bells are in the near future. On the music end, Meek is set to join Nicki for the second leg of her Pinkprint Tour, which will also feature Tinashe, Rae Sremmurd and Dej Loaf.
