Armed with a series of beats, Meek Mill took over the Hip Hop Nation radio show for nearly eight minutes to deliver bar after bar like his life depended. It's impressive, to say the least.

The freestyle session easily could have turned into a cypher considering his Maybach Music Group brothers were in the building—that's Rick Ross on the ad libs, right?—to promote the upcoming release of 'Self-Made Vol. 3.' But the Philadelphia rapper didn't take a moment to pass the mic and just rapped his heart out over instrumentals like Biggie's 'Who Shot Ya?,' Wu-Tang Clan's 'Triumph,' and, of course, Big Sean's 'Control.'

Coincidentally, this rather epic rap session took place on the same night (and in the same city) as Kendrick Lamar's show in Brooklyn earlier this week. You know, the one where he took some shots at Mill while he was onstage. Had the MMG rapper's appearance been on Hip Hop Nation the following day, we get the feeling he would have addressed all that. Maybe next time?

You can watch the full freestyle above. 'Self-Made Vol. 3' drops Sept. 17.
