After this success of his first album in 11 years with 2017's Which Way Iz West, produced by DJ Premier, MC Eiht has announced that he has a new project on the way this summer.

The Compton veteran told HipHopDX that his new EP, Keep It Hood Part 2 will arrive this summer. The project is a follow up to 2006's Keep It Hood Part 1. Eiht says that he was inspired to create new music by the success of Which Way Iz West. The album was well-received and featured appearances from The Lady Of Rage ("Heart Cold"), Kurupt, WC, Xzibit, Compton’s Most Wanted and B-Real, among others.

“I’m just trying to keep fans intrigued with simplicity in my music," he told DX. "I want to capture that feel good time of neighborhood influenced struggle. It was a good day kind of shit."

To that end, in addition to the forthcoming EP, Eiht will deliver the next installment of Which Way Iz West this August. His EP is due out this June.
