EXCLUSIVE: Mateo Performs ‘Rosie’ for McDonald’s Live Bytes

Mateo did say during a sit-down with The Boombox that he was pretty jealous of Drake for writing ‘Hold On We’re Going Home.’ But after performing his new song ‘Rosie’ for a special McDonald’s Live Bytes session at MSR Studios in New York City, we’re sure there will be plenty singers jealous that they didn’t write the track first.

The 27-year-old mixes intimacy and intensity as he sings the ballad from behind a black piano in front of a small audience. Mateo seems like the embodiment of cool with his black leather jacket, straight hairline and infectious sound. Then you hear lines like, “I know I don’t have much / But my heart is golden.” This cool kid needs love too.

Watch the singer get into his groove above.
