Mary J. Blige to Release Video for Lil Wayne, Diddy Single
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has returned. Mary J. Blige is currently prepping the release of her upcoming tenth studio album, revealing that the Colin Tilley-directed video for her new single, ‘Someone to Love Me (Naked),’ will premiere on April 8.
The remixed track, which was originally included without Mary’s vocals on Diddy-Dirty Money‘s ‘Last Train to Paris,’ surfaced at the top of the year on Angie Martinez’ Hot 97 show. Since then, it has picked up steam on terrestrial radio and was released to iTunes earlier this week (March 29). The industry veteran showed her gratitude to radio stations for showing the tune some love. “Thank u 2 all radio stations 4 making Some one 2 Love, my new single with Lil Wayne and Diddy your most added song this week!!!” she wrote.
The 40-year-old diva has been working on the untitled LP since August 2010, putting in studio time with a handful of producers and writers including Swizz Beatz, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Ne-Yo, Raphael Saadiq and more. The album follows 2009’s ‘Stronger with Each Tear,’ which bowed at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 332,000 copies sold in its first week.
