During Sunday's (Nov. 19) game against the New England Patriots in Mexico, Oakland Raiders star Marshawn Lynch continued to sit during the national anthem but stood for the Mexican national anthem.

Lynch's protest drew the ire of President Donald Trump, who called out the running back on Twitter. On Monday morning (Nov. 20), Trump tweeted, "Marshawn Lynch of the NFL's Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great Disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down."

According to a tweet from Ben Volin, while Lynch did stand during the Mexican national anthem, the running back wasn't at full attention.

It's not the president's first time picking a fight with the NFL due to the anthem protest. In September, during a rally for Alabama Republican Senate candidate Luther Strange, Trump told team owners to fire players who took a knee during the anthem.

"Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, he's fired. He's fired!" he said. The president added, "For a week, [that owner would] would be the most popular person in this country. Because that's a total disrespect of our heritage. That's a total disrespect for everything we stand for."
