R&B crooner Mario has been relatively quiet on the music front for some time but fans are in for a treat. The Baltimore native will debut his new single, the Nicki Minaj-assisted "Somebody Else" next week.

He hopes the Polow Da Don-produced track "breathes new life into R&B." Mario wrote a handwritten note on his official website, which detailed the direction he's taking his life in at the moment.
"Nothing can explain the excitement in my heart at this point & time in my life," he wrote. "I have changed so much as a man, artist, & creator, and I realize more and more everyday that it's not about me. It's about me doing what GOD wants me to do; change the world with my GIFT."

The 26-year-old singer is currently at work on his fifth album. His previous LP, 2009's "DNA," featured "Break-Up" featuring Gucci Mane and Sean Garrett.

"Somebody Else" will hit iTunes on May 21.
