Mariah Carey is known for her stellar vocal abilities, however, the lauded songstress fell ridiculously short during a performance of 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' at the National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 6.

Dressed in a form-fitting ivory dress, Carey took the stage to perform her 1994 song, off her 'Merry Christmas' album, with a smile on her face. But from the jump, the singer sounded off. She didn't hit the high notes she's recognized for and seemed to play it safe.

Perhaps the Grammy Award-winning chanteuse was sick or felt nervous to put on a grand performance in front of event attendees like Pres. Obama.

Head to the 3:27-mark above to experience the cringe-worthy moment when Carey's voice cracks so badly you want to fast forward to the end of the song. And below, the way we'd like to remember 'All I Want for Christmas Is You.'
