Mariah Carey spilled some tea about her personal life during a Q&A at the annual gathering of the Television Critics Association. The 46-year-old pop princess was there to promote her upcoming E! docuseries, Mariah's World as well as her forthcoming Sweet Sweet Fantasy concert tour, but she was also asked about her personal life and time on American Idol.

Carey joined the now-defunct singing competition show for season 12 in 2013, and things were infamously rocky during her time there. Friction between Carey and co-host Nicki Minaj was highly-publicized throughout the season--with both stars deciding to walk away from the show after one year.

When asked about her ...Idol tenure, Carey was to the point.

“Ugh! It was the most the most abusive experience!” she said. And that was that.

As for the reality show, Mimi is hoping the viewers will finally get to see her true self. "I don’t know if anybody … knows the real me," she said when asked about why she's creating the eight-part series.

But if producers are looking for Mariah to do her homework, they'll have their work cut out for them since she doesn't "watch reality."

"I don't even watch reality. I don't even know what reality is. Like, literally in terms of the real world," she said.

The show does seem interesting, as viewers will get to see the pop diva in her essence and in her element. "I don't consider [the show] reality. I wanted to document. We're going on tour. We haven't been on tour in at least 10 years... when I was 10. Lets show behind-the-scenes, show what it takes to be on tour," she said.

And it seems that her ex-hubby, Nick Cannon, may also be making a few appearances -- if he makes it past the editing stage. "I can't speak for what he thinks. We're not together any more. I didn't say he was going to be on the show, I said he'd be around. I don't know if he makes the final cut," she said.

Mariah’s World premieres at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4.
