A man died from injuries sustained after being “sucker punched” at a Hip-Hop festival in Sacramento, California on Monday (May 16). A local radio station hosted the sold-out concert in Discovery Park where the assault took place. The line-up featured Ty Dolla $ign, E-40, Lil Dicky, Kehlani, the Internet, Desiigner and many others.

Reports claim the man was assaulted and a blow to the face, left him unresponsive. KCRA reports the 31 year-old man, (who’s identity has not been released) was pronounced dead at the hospital. Witnesses told KCRA “he hit the ground after being punched and immediately turned gray and blue." Investigators are on the hunt for the suspect and handling the case as a homicide.

Police are still looking for the suspect who is being described as a man in his mid-20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds. He has an athletic build and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and cargo pants.

Approximately 17,000 people attended the festival and CBS13 reports, the show went on despite the altercation that happened during that day.

Organizers of the festival, wrote in a social media post:

“We are deeply saddened by the senseless tragedy that took place in line at a food stand yesterday. We want to extend our condolences to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time. Thank you for your patience.”
