Mac Miller’s ‘GO:OD AM’ Album Available for Streaming
The Pittsburgh native starts out the album with the Tyler, The Creator-produced track, "Doors." Miller delivers an update on his current state of mind. "Ain’t sayin’ that I’m sober, I’m just in a better place," he raps.
On "Time Flies," Lil B shows up to some spread some positivity. "As we keep livin’ and keep bein’ positive, all we can do is hold on to these memories," the Based God serves.
The album features some of the best creative minds in the music industry including Ab-Soul, Miguel, Chief Keef and Little Dragon.
GO:OD AM is the follow-up to 2013's Watching Movies with the Sound Off and his first album to come from the 23-year-old rapper's partnership with Warner Bros. Records. After reportedly inking a $10 million deal with the label, Miller found himself in a better place financially. “I got a nice little chunk of change… There’s a lot of space [in L.A.]… I got to this space where I didn’t feel like I had to bring any money in," he said in an interview with Power 105's The Breakfast Club. "I was just recording. And then I realized I can’t put anything out, and I ran out of money -- Scott Storched myself -- so then I realized it was time to come back.”
After listening to songs like "Doors," it's apparent Miller is on a better path than the drug-fueled one he was riding on for the past few years. “I had a little battle," he admits. "I was having a good time, but it was time to clean my act up and get back to work, accept my responsibilities, and who I am, and what I gotta do.”
