We all know that Lupe Fiasco is quite flexible when it comes to holding the mic, but did you know he can also wield a sharp sword?

On Monday (March 27), video surfaced of the Chicago rhymer dressed as a Samurai and wielding a katana, which is a long and curved sword used by Japanese samurais. Oh, and they are very, very sharp. Fiasco was able to swing the sword quite effortlessly with one hand. Clearly, he’s been practicing his sword fighting techniques for some time.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that Fiasco is knowledgable in the world of martial arts. He has a black belt in karate, two black belts in samurai sword styles (kendo and aiedo), which combines Japanese martial arts practices with strenuous sport-like physical activity.

In a 2010 interview with MTV News, Fiasco said that martial arts training has been a part of his childhood upbringing.

“I did martial arts for, like, 20 years. My father was a Grand Master for, like, 40 years before he passed,” he said. “It’s just one of those lessons that we were taught. We used to run in the snow barefoot, jump over cars, hang out of trees and do all types of crazy stuff, and that was just part of the training, to understand that it’s you versus yourself. The terrain is always going to exist, it’s always going to be there, and it’s whether you are capable enough to go through it. Just some little mysticism right there, a little bit of that karate magic to keep the mind going.”

Overall, don't mess with Lupe Fiasco.
