Lupe Fiasco Debuts ‘Next to It’ Featuring Ty Dolla $ign

For the past few weeks, Lupe Fiasco has been on a steady promotional run for his new album, 'Tetsuo & Youth,' slated for release later this year. Recently, the rapper visited DJ MoonDawg of 107.5 FM in Chicago to debut his new song 'Next to It' featuring Ty Dolla $ign.

'Next To It' details how material items lose importance when they're compared to more significant things.

"Money ain't s--- when there's wealth next to it  /Wealth ain't s--- when there's health next to it / In the lane with nobody else next to it / Ain't get here by myself, lot of help next to it," spits Lupe.

Produced by Ty Dolla $ign and Shafiq Husayn, the cut is somewhat playful, since Lupe doesn't get overly lyrical on it. Instead, he uses words that bounce over the beat perfectly and crafts some pretty clever comparisons to make his point.

"Anything look good with a bitch next to it / And if the bitch got a face that's pretty next to it / Riding around town something really exclusive bump a little Pac with some Biggie next to it / That's love with a twist next to it," he rhymes.
