Lil Yachty seems to be becoming more known for his controversial hip hop opinions than his music these days, but that may all be about to change. The young Atlanta rapper stirred up a lot of backlash over the past year for scrutinizing older hip hop heads and veteran rappers, but nothing set social media on fire more than when he deemed Notorious B.I.G. as "overrated."

The "Minnesota" entertainer recently sat down to do an interview with Ebro Darden on Beats 1, where the two addressed some of his unpopular rap opinions. It looks like the rapper has some second thoughts on his comments, as he issued an apology for what he said about Biggie in particular.

"The only thing I kind of hate is that I kind of spoke so quick on him, saying I don’t know this I don’t know that before I gave him a chance and listened to him…. Before I said that I was in the blind," he said. "I feel like I owe an apology. I didn’t think before I spoke on that topic. I know now how important and just how serious it is to some people. I didn’t want people thinking that I was disrespecting him because it wasn’t a disrespect thing. That’s just my personal opinion. My dad did not play Biggie or Tupac so I had never heard it. And I just now, to this day, I feel like I was wrong for speaking about something like that without taking a second to listen."

On top of speaking on his controversial comments, Ebro asks Yachty what he thinks about people claiming that he is "destroying hip hop." The rapper brings up Lord Jamar, who is known for expressing his distaste for today's hip hop artists. Yachty doesn't understand why he's being criticized so harshly, as he is promoting being anti-drugs and antWhat are your thoughts on Yachty's new statements about Biggie?
