Lil Wayne took a brief moment to reflect upon his recent prison sentence on Sunday night, while walking the red carpet into his Welcome Home Tunechi party in Miami.

Making his first public statement since the day of his release, Wayne told MTV "I just wanna thank everybody. Not only MTV fans, but the fans across the whole world. Most of all, my family. I couldn't do it without them and I would never do it without them."

Weezy has received an extraordinary amount of support, both while he was in prison and since his release. The past four days have been a whirlwind of public appearances, court dates, concerts and parties. His Young Money crew, including Drake and Nicki Minaj were all on hand at the party, along with Rick Ross, Cool & Dre, Fat Joe, his mentor Birdman, and many more.

"I forgot about yesterday," Wayne said, explaining how he hopes to put the last eight months behind him.

In regards to his surprise performance with Drake, he was equally at a loss. "It's unexplainable," he said of his return to the stage. "Words can't explain. I'm good with words and I can't explain."

Welcome home, Weezy. Check out his comeback performance with Drake in Las Vegas over the weekend after the jump.
