Lil Wayne Lends a Dirty Verse to Joe Jonas’ ‘Just in Love’
Lil Wayne continues his cross-genre domination by popping up on a new track by Joe Jonas. The Disney boy band member turned all-grown-up pop singer called into 'On Air with Ryan Seacrest' for a world premiere of the remix to his 'Just in Love' hit off his upcoming album 'Faster,' featuring a verse from Lil Wayne, earning it a Parental Advisory sticker.
Jonas says he's met Weezy "three years ago when Russell Brand was hosting the VMAs. I remember walking up to him and saying, 'Hello Mr. Lil' Wayne, I'm Joe Jonas,' and he's like 'JONASSSSS!!!' Ever since then I told him that I wanted to work together someday if it makes sense, and then this project came along." He adds, "He made this remix, and he killed it. It's a dream come true for me."
"She looks like a butterfly/Smells like a flower/We go together like money and power/I don't need nothin', nothin', but her/All them other b------ ain't f------ with her," Lil Wayne raps, adding some sentimental raunchiness to the dance jam.
Seems like pop acts just can't get enough of Weezy. Young stars Demi Lovato and Justin Bieber have both covered his romantic critique 'How to Love' and his signature always in demand -- he's collaborating with Robin Thicke too. Turns out showing hip-hop's sentimental side is pretty lucrative.
