Lil Wayne Featured in ‘Def Jam Rapstar’ Ad Campaign
With just over a month left to complete in his Rikers Island jail sentence, Lil Wayne‘s career is already back in full throttle. In addition to celebrating his September 27, birthday with the release of his album ‘I Am Not a Human Being,’ Weezy also appears in a new national ad campaign for the upcoming ‘Def Jam Rapstar’ video game.
Wayne’s ad for the karaoke hip-hop game is featured in the latest issue of ESPN magazine and shows the incarcerated rapper on stage, with a pair of handcuffs still strapped to one wrist, followed by a caption that reads: “I am the beast. Feed me rappers or feed me beats.”
Weezy will be one of many emcees included on the new hip-hop game, which features over 40 classic and current songs from artists including Kanye West, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, DMX, Salt-N-Pepa and Lil Jon. The new software will allow gamers to rap and mix their favorite tracks, then record the performance on the game’s video mode and upload it to the Internet for other players to vote on their talents. Wayne’s 2007 hit song ‘A Mili’ will appear alongside tracks like the Notorious B.I.G.’s ‘Juicy,’ Big Pun’s ‘Still Not A Player,’ and Biz Markie’s ‘Just A Friend.’
Def Jam Rapstar will be available for Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3. The game will be launch in the U.S. on October 5 and in the U.K. on November 5.
