Lil Wayne has always been known for a tireless work ethic, but things really soared to unfathomable levels as he shot a batch of music videos before he was shipped away to Rikers Island earlier this year. Finally, some of that work will surface before Memorial Day in what MTV is calling 'Lil Tunechi Weekend.' First up is a clip for 'Da Da Da' off Weezy's 'Rebirth' record.

The video finds Wayne leading a real deal 1999-style rap-rock extravaganza. He links with rockers ¡Mayday! on the roof of Miami's Marlin Hotel and draws quite a crowd as the filming progresses. Directed by David Rousseau, the clip was clearly shot on the fly but that only adds to the spontaneous, ready-to-party feel. During shooting, Rousseau was realistic about what needed to be done.

"This is our deadline. This is a hard deadline," he told MTV News. "It was basically a 'Mission: Impossible' [scenario]: This is your mission if you choose to accept it. Everybody is onboard, because everybody knows what's at stake. Unlike T.I. and some of these other guys that's disappeared while they were in, the point is to keep Wayne [visible] on TV and everything for whatever time he's in. There was a plan in action. Slim and Baby really could foresee that. He's at the height of his career. You can't let that momentum slip."

'Lil Tunechi Weekend' is the first major culmination of that plan. In addition to 'Da Da Da,' MTV Jams and MTV2 will feature three other brand new Lil Wayne videos throughout the next few days. Weezy might be gone til November but he certainly won't be forgotten anytime soon.
