Although they could cut checks without doing much damage to their bank balances, Lil Wayne and Drake are refusing to cough up the roughly $400,000 they've been ordered to pay Imperial Entertainment Group following a lawsuit over a missed club appearance in 2011.

As TMZ reports, the rappers claim that they were never informed about the appearance, and that they never signed contracts with the promoter. What's more, Drizzy and Weezy attest, they weren't served court papers, which might explain why they were no-shows at the proceedings.

Their absence led to a $432,337.50 default judgement, which the hip-hop stars are now gearing up to fight. They insist a third party, Melanzh Enterprises, booked them for the appearance, even though it had no authority to do so.
