The hip hop community continues to offer its support to the people of Haiti, as rapper/actor Lil Romeo and The College Boyys have announced plans to throw a benefit concert in Los Angeles next week. The rappers have partnered to host a free concert at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles, collecting donations for the children of the earthquake-stricken country.

"We are focusing on the importance of education and helping devastated Haiti kids through their recovery process to receive a basic education," Romeo said in a recent statement. "In the U.S., a basic education is a necessity but in poor countries like Haiti, it's a luxury. Every kid, no matter how poor, deserves a basic education. Our mission is to give Haiti kids a chance at a good start. By our team effort and our kids getting involved and doing their part, we are touching the hearts of a nation of kids that have lost so much."

Concertgoers are asked to donate two books to I Heart Haiti Kids and Six Flags Friends charities in exchange for discounted admission to the theme park where The College Boyys, Romeo, Kyla Pratt and others will be performing for free.

"By donating and recycling books we are giving Haiti kids the opportunity to read, stimulate their imagination, hope, and dream, envision, and prepare for their future," Romeo explained. "I'm also reaching out to my other celebrity friends such as Jaden Smith, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Keke Palmer, Jonas Brothers, and Nick Cannon to help join in on this movement."

The benefit concert takes place Saturday, Feb. 27 at Six Flags Magic Mountain. For more information, or to donate, click here.
