Lil Kim Gets Memed for Saying She’s a ‘Spanish Girl Trapped in a Black Girl’s Body’

She was probably just fooling around or trying to show her appreciation of Latin culture, but Lil Kim was blasted for saying she’s a “Spanish girl trapped in a Black Girl’s body.”

The Brooklyn rapper made that statement in a video posted by her team, where she was dancing and singing lyrics in Spanish. Afterward, many on the Internet let her have it and posted a slew of comments and memes.

This isn’t the first time the former Junior Mafia member sparked controversy as it pertains to race.

Back in 2009, after the release of the Biggie Smalls biopic Notorious, there were rumors that said Kim thought the woman playing her was too dark. That actress was Power‘s Naturi Naughton, and Big’s mother Voletta Wallace eventually spoke out.

“She felt the character we chose for her was too dark,” said Wallace. “Do you know why the character was too dark for her? Because she’s a white woman trapped in a black woman’s body, and you can tell the world I said it, because those are Lil Kim’s words. She should be ashamed of herself.”

The Hardcore rhymer hasn’t addressed the Spanish girl comments yet, and there’s a good chance she won’t. For now you can check out some of the memes below, which will likely be coming throughout the entire day today.
