Lavish Reynolds, Woman Who Livestreamed Philando Castile Aftermath: ‘His Birthday Is in Nine Days’ [VIDEO]
Lavish Reynolds, the woman who filmed and narrated the aftermath of her boyfriend, Philando Castile, being fatally shot by a police officer, has spoken out about the incident and what she's been through over the last 24 hours.
In footage posted on Facebook, a clearly emotional Reynolds voices her pain and explains what transpired since the killing of Philando Castile.
"It's not fair," Reynolds can be seen exclaiming. "They're giving all of these people--these authorities--the right to kill us. It could've been you. It could've been any of us!"
The young mother was practically inconsolable as she shared what happened during the ordeal.
"I want justice!" she shouted. "[The officer] should not be home with his family, he should be somewhere handcuffed."
CNN reported that Castile was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, near Minneapolis. Reynolds live-streamed the immediate aftermath of the shooting on Facebook. She and their daughter were also in the car. Castile later died from his injuries.
"They took everything from me," Reynolds shared. "They put me in a room and separated me from my child. They treated me like a prisoner. They treated me like I did this to me--they did this to us. They took a black man away. He worked for St. Paul Public schools. He never had a criminal record. He never did anything--no gang affiliated nothing. He was a hard working man. His birthday is in nine days."
"They took him nine days before his 35th birthday."
