Lauryn Hill's name doesn't tend to pop up in the headlines as often as her fans would like, but it looks some may be rejoicing very soon. The reclusive rapper/songstress has been booked to perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Europe's most prestigious musical event, which will take place July 3-18. Hill will join an assorted lineup of 1,000 musicians including the Black Eyed Peas, Dave Matthews Band, Herbie Hancock and blues legend B.B. King.

Hill is scheduled to play the Stravinski Auditorium on July 11 following a tribute to Nina Simone, which features Dianne Reeves, Lizz Wright and Angelique Kidjo. The status of Hill's music career has remained a mystery to most her through the years, in 2004 it was reported that she was working on a solo album but no other details have been released since. Her last noted public performance dates back to August 2007 where she did a two hour set in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY.
