Lauryn Hill Performs ‘Ex-Factor’ for First Time After Jail [Video]

Does Lauryn Hill still have it? The songstress belted out her classic song ‘Ex-Factor’ at Bowery Ballroom in New York City last month. This was the first time she performed the track since being released from jail.

Ms. Hill performed a variation of the classic breakup song with pulsating synths and a live band. Very different from the heartbreaking number we remember from 1998. How do you think the new version stacks up?

The show, which took place on Nov. 27, is a part of the singer’s ‘Homecoming Concert Series.’ Initial video footage from the show was released earlier, and also featured L Boogie’s son rapping. The concert series continues with dates in Boston, New Jersey and additional New York dates.

The former Fugees frontwoman has been working hard to resurrect her career this year. She released ‘Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)’ in May before serving three months for tax evasion as well as ‘Consumerism.’ Expect more new music as Lauryn also announced that she’s launching a new label through Sony.
