After putting in years of work in the Bay Area underground scene with his Quannum/Solesides crew as party of the seminal DJ Shadow-produced group Latyrx and Maroons, rapper Lateef the Truthspeaker is gearing up to release his solo debut, 'FireWire,' and has released a new single, 'Oakland,' to whet fans' appetites.

Oaktown heroes Del the Funky Homosapien and Grouch stop by to lend their distinctive vocals to the guitar-powered, hometown anthem, which features a pretty catchy hook, and can be heard via our friends over at PrefixMag.

"It's one of the few cities bloods and crips couldn't crack/ Church players snatched up to play for Janet Jackson/ Everybody's hustlin' whether crack, cannabis/ Clothes off they back, or a professional racket," Lateef spits, bigging up his city's hustle.

For a breezy change of pace, be sure to check out Feist/Jamie Lidell producer Mocky's laid back remix -- our favorite of the two -- here.

Lateef's 'FireWire' hits shelves Nov. 8.
