Denver rapper KL Tha General was shot and killed at the Beach nightclub on Sunday (Nov. 23).

The rapper, whose real name is Kevie Durham, was a rising artist in the local rap scene and was preparing to release his first full-length studio album.

According to Denver police, the shooting left multiple people with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities have made no arrest and don't have any leads at this point.

Local producer and friend Russ P., who worked with KL Tha General, said he was a talented rapper who was not a violent person.

"This isn’t just another story of a rapper running around doing crazy stuff and ending up getting shot in the streets," he told KMGH News. "This is different. He was a good dude, that’s all I can say. And he had a lot to offer, not only the local community as an artist, but the world."

"He had a lot of talent. It was just the beginning for this guy," he added.

KL's Facebook page was flooded with condolences from friends and fans.

"KL Tha General, you will truly be missed, you made me laugh and you were super sweet always gave me good advice," wrote one fan. Another commenter said, "Man I can't believe it fam. Your music touched a lot of us as well as you being a real homey. I Miss you bro. Never will u be forgotten. Much love to the general my friend Kevie."

We send our condolences to Durham's family. R.I.P. KL Tha General.
