Killer Mike is still catching some flack for defending Bill Maher's use of the N-word on his HBO talk show. The Run the Jewels rapper responded to fans and Twitter users about the controversy, stating that the black community has "bigger things" to concern themselves with, identifying switching to black-owned banks, gentrification and more issues that deserve attention.

TMZ recently spoke with Mike about the comedian, where he went into a bit more detail on how he truly feels about the crude joke. The Southern MC even claims that he would have punched Maher in the stomach if he had ever used the n-word around him at any point.

“I would’ve punched Bill in his stomach. I would’ve punched Bill in his stomach and said, ‘You sound stupid,’ and we would’ve smoked a joint after,” Mike said. “You know why, because that’s what you do when your white friend does that when you’re 13 and he gets a little too comfortable and says it—you punch your friend in the stomach," Mike told the outlet.

Killer Mike also speaks on people protesting Bill and his show, which includes Chance The Rapper, who has called for HBO to stop airing Real Time with Bill Maher.

“If people want to protest him, fine, I support it. If people want to call for his job, do what you want to do. As for me, though, I am not going to start limit entertainers in what they can say, because when you start doing that, you’re painting yourself in a corner, and you’re going to make sure your First Amendment rights are one day going to be out the door, and we really are going to live in a fascist country," he continued.

We'll have to see how the public and fans continue to treat Maher after the controversy. but it looks like Mike won't be pulling his support from the comedian's brand just yet. Watch the clip below.
