Kid Cudi gets candid about his depression, drug usage and suicidal thoughts in an interview with Pharrell Williams and Scott Vener on their Beats 1 show, OTHERtone.

Cudi shared that he became guilt ridden when he began to see success while "everybody that I had ever met in my life" still struggled to make ends meet.

"I didn't like that I had money and success. That I had made it and everybody that I had ever met in my life -- good people -- weren't able to experience the same," he said. "I wasn't able to truly enjoy my success even though I worked hard for it. It bothered me that I just had so much and my friends didn't."

This is what ultimately led him down the dark path. “I’ll tell you the truth, it’s what drove me to drugs,” he said.

Cudi also revealed that he's obsessed with Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain, two artists who met an untimely death by overdosing on drugs. At one point he was convinced that he may go out the same way.

“These are my heroes, they understand me and if I die this way then this is destiny,” he said.

Luckily, the 32-year-old rapper-actor was able to turn his life around when after he got arrested and realized that people "give a f---" about him. The revelation is what led to the creation of his sophomore album, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager.

Cudi also has a number of stories to share including working with Kanye West in Hawaii and writing hooks for Jay Z’s The Blueprint III album.

Back in April, Cudder tweeted that he “thinks about blowin [his] brains out a handful a times a week.” We're happy that he's been able to keep going. Keep demon slayin' Cudi!
