Kid Cudi Changes Band Name, Launches Record Label
Kid Cudi has been making some changes. As the G.O.O.D. music rapper-singer prepares the release of his rock-influenced third album, 'Wizard,' Cudi has split with his management, squashed beef with recent Maybach Music signee Wale, quit smoking marijuana and has now announced that he is changing the name of his new band.
During his performance at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City on Thursday (April 21), Cudi informed the crowd that, while he has changed the name of his band with producer Dot da Genius from Wizard to 2 Be Continuum, the wizardry will not be affected.
"I needed something more original, something different, but it's still wizardry at its finest," he told MTV. "It's science. Basically it's just me and Dot, we been really working hard on this project. I'm really f--king excited for y'all to hear it too. It's incredible!"
The 'Day 'N' Night' rapper went on to reveal that the album will be released via his new imprint, Wicked Awesome Records, and will be "epic, epic."
"I've only been playing guitar for nine months but the records have been coming out f----ing epic, epic, I'm really excited," Cudi continued. "We gonna have that first single for y'all soon. This summer."
Kid Cudi's rock record 'Wizard' will be in stores some time this year.
