After a five-year hiatus, Keri Hilson is returning with a new album in 2016. The R&B star's third LP is called L.I.A.R., her first studio album since 2010s No Boys Allowed.

The album title is an acronym for Love Is a Religion. The project’s first single is the Mike WiLL-Made It-produced tune "Again," which is set to drop on Friday (March 18). The "mid-tempo R&B anthem" is being described as her most honest song to date.

As for the album, the 33-year-old singer-songwriter promises to explain why it took her so long to release new music.

“I promise, I will tell my fans everything on this album. Why I was really gone, what actually happened, what didn’t, what I could control, and what I couldn’t,” Hilson told Rap-Up. “Never will I ever again take a break from music.”

When news broke that Ms. Keri Baby was dropping a new album, apparently the Beyhive (aka Beyonce's fans) went on the attack via Twitter and left stinging tweets. You may recall that Hilson drew the ire of Bey stans a few years back.

"The Beyhive legit put "[Bee emojis]" all over Keri Hilson's album announcement post. I am crying," wrote one fan. Another person commented, "Keri hilson back though? That's great!! And Thats nice of Beyonce to let her out of Blue Ivys guest house."

However, there were plenty of fans who rejoiced over Hilson's return to the R&B game. "Keri Hilson is an incredibly gifted songwriter and her music is D O P E. This third album will be nothing short of greatness, already hip," tweeted one follower.
