Kendrick Lamar is still the people's champ. The Compton MC won your vote for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year in The BoomBox Fan Choice Awards. The "good kid" earned 36.71 percent of the votes and beat fan favorites Drake and Eminem by a margin of over 14 percent.

Unlike like his two main competitors, Lamar didn't release an album in 2013. He took over the year by using the same method competitor Drake did in 2012: killing guest verses. Lamar landed spots on A$AP Rocky's 'F---in' Problems,' Miguel's 'How Many Drinks?' remix and fellow Black Hippy member ScHoolboy Q's 'Collard Greens.'

Of course, those appearances pale in comparison to his headline-making proclamations with his verse on Big Sean's 'Control.' Lamar's world-altering, quotable stacked lyrics are credited for reinvigorating the spirit of competition in hip-hop. It also made a lot of people forget that Jay Electronica is also featured on the song.

Even though Lamar had a rough night at the 2014 Grammys -- he lost in all seven categories he was his nominated in thanks, in part, to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis -- he's still moving forward. The TDE signee's first guest verse of the year is on rock band Imagine Dragons' 'Radioactive' remix. He may also even put out a project this year as part of TDE's slated six releases.

Congratulations on the win Kendrick!
