Kendrick Lamar made a huge cultural impact in 2015 with his fantastic album, To Pimp a Butterfly. To close out the year, the Compton rhymer delivers a powerful visual for “God Is Gangsta,” which also features the tracks “u” and “For Sale.”

The clip begins with Lamar sitting at a table holding a bottle of liquor and spitting out lyrics from “u.” He appears to be in a drunken stupor as he is yelling at himself in the mirror and everything around him become a dizzying haze. The video then segues into “For Sale,” which features the 28-year-old at a decadent party with nude women walking around with intercuts of him being baptized.

Throughout the short film there’s short messages that flash across the screen like “Time is change. Your friend or foe,” “I made money. I lost money,” "If I blame you for a loss. I'm giving you all the credit" and finally, “God Is Gangsta,” which is the title of this visually bizarre film.

The video complements Lamar’s polarizing LP TPAB, which garnered 11 Grammy nominations. In a recent New York Times interview, the “Alright” rapper said he hopes to win them of his nominations.

"I want all of them," he said. "Because it’s not only a statement for myself, but it’s a statement for the culture."

"They’re all important, because of the foundation the forefathers laid before me," he continued. "Nas didn’t get a chance to be in that position. Pac. So to be acknowledged and to actually win, it’s for all of them."
