Detroit fans got a big surprise yesterday (July 26) when Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. Tour rolled through the city—he brought out J. Cole.

Two of the biggest names in hip-hop shared the stage a the Palace Of Aubin Hills—sparking more hope that their long-awaited joint album has the possibility of seeing the light of day. Cole's surprise performance was kicked off with "De Ja Vu" from his most recent album 4 Your Eyez Only, which sent the surprised crowd into a frenzy. He also performed "A Tale of 2 Citiez" and "No Role Modelz" from 2014 Forest Hills Drive. He also performed "Don't Save Her."

Cole, who is also on tour, hit the venue just a few days ago (July 23), though he'll head to Toronto next while Kendrick, who is up for eight MTV VMAs this year, hits Chicago.
