kelisIt's been a tumultuous 2009 for singer Kelis, who gave birth to her son Knight and saw her divorce battles splashed all over the Internet, but the Harlem native is finally making headlines for her music again. On Monday (Nov. 23) the 'Bossy' singer officially announced her return to the scene with the release of her new single 'Acapella.' The electro-dance inspired track, produced by famed DJ David Guetta is the first release from her forthcoming Spring 2010 album, which is still without a working title.

"My album is pretty much done," Kelis said in a statement to her fans. Her first album since 2006's 'Kelis Was Here,' will be Kelis' debut on Will.I.Am/Interscope Records, following a split from Jive Records in 2007. "I signed a new deal and I'm madly in love with life and ready to share something with you. My song is called 'Acapella' and I wrote it with love and life in mind." For her fifth studio project, she enlisted the help of some eclectic musical guests including Guetta, Boys Noize and Diplo and Switch.
