Kanye West Remembers Designer Alexander McQueen

Kanye West and Alexander Mcqueen

Kanye West recently blogged about the death of fashion designer Alexander McQueen, who was found dead in London on Thursday.

Kanye, who has referred to himself as someone who “lives fashion,” wrote a blog post in remembrance of the designer. “McQueen … So devastating,” Kanye posted on his blog. “He was a genius … He was so important and special … We lost an angel!”

Kanye had previously credited the designer as one of his fashion icons, posting images of McQueen’s spring collection on his blog in 2009. ‘Ye also frequented McQueens shows, and was spotted in 2007 at McQueen’s show during Paris Fashion Week, as well as his showcase in New York’s fashion week in 2009, which he referred to as his “favorite fashion show this year.” Several other high-profile artists ranked among McQueen’s fans, including Rihanna, Madonna and Lady Gaga, all of whom rocked his couture designs at awards shows and in their videos.

He will be missed.
