Kanye West made a grand return as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. The rapper-producer entertained audiences with two great performances of “Highlights” and “Ultra Light Beams.”

For “Highlights,” Yeezy hit the stage with Young Thug, The-Dream, Kelly Price and El DeBarge. Dressed in a sparkly embroidered jacket, acid-washed jeans (are they making a comeback?) and white adidas kicks, Kanye delivered his braggadocios rhymes including the infamous line, “I bet me Ray J be friends if we ain’t love the same bitch / Yeah, he may had hit it first, only problem is I’m rich.”

For his second set, the G.O.O.D Music leader took the audience to church with the spiritual anthem “Ultra Light Beams.” Backed by a gospel choir, Kanye kicks the song off with solemn prayer rapping (via Auto-Tune), "Deliver us serenity / Deliver us peace / Deliver us love / Lord knows we need it."

Additionally, Kelly Price kills her performance with her soaring vocals, while Chance the Rapper delivers a fiery verse and Kirk Franklin closes with a thoughtful sermon. We also see Fonzworth Bentley rocking with the choir as well. Where has he been hiding?

Overall, Kanye West's performances sets up the release for his new project, The Life of Pablo, which is available now for streaming on Tidal and you can download it on kanyewest.com.
