Kanye West Makes Surprise Appearance, Will Release ‘808’s & Heartbreak’ in December

It looks like Kanye West is gearing up for a comeback ... not that he actually went anywhere. The producer/rapper made a surprise appearance at New York's Knitting Factory last night where he performed the new track, 'Love Lockdown,' which West sang at the close of the MTV Video Music Awards.

As we previously reported, the new song will reportedly be featured on the rapper's upcoming album, '808's & Heartbreak,' which is due in stores on December 16. According to sources, West will take a break from rhyming and sing on every track of his forthcoming project. In addition to 'Love Lockdown,' West performed 'Swagger Like Us,' minus Jay-Z, T.I. and Lil Wayne, 'Flashing Lights' and 'Put On.'
