Kanye West Interviews Rihanna for Magazine Cover Story
After Kanye West's infuriating experience with Matt Lauer on the 'Today' show -- and the heated Twitter rant that followed -- one would assume that he'd had it with journalists for a while. But instead, Ye decided to take a whack at the job himself, interviewing his pal Rihanna for an upcoming Interview magazine cover story.
For Interview's December issue, which features a full spread of the Bajan pop star, Mr. West had to come up with a few brilliant questions. Kanye chatted up Ri-Ri about everything from landing her record deal, to his fascination with an awesome pink army tank that she used on tour. As to be expected, some of Kanye's questions were more entertaining that Rihanna's actual answers. "I mean, people really need to see a photograph -- the entire tank was pink," he gushed about the prop. "That was a great piece of commercial pop art. Was the idea of that to kind of portray an American Dream -- like the fantasy of this hot black girl sitting a top of a pink tank?
Thanks to Rihanna's close working relationship with Kanye -– which includes a shared Grammy for Jay-Z's 2009 hit 'Run This Town' -– she seemed open enough to entertaining some of his off-the-wall queries. The question: "How does it feel to know that you could have any man in the world. Or woman. How does it feel to know that you can turn straight women gay?" prompted the response "Is that a real question?" But still, our favorite had to be: "Do you know any famous people now?"
We'll go out on a limb here and say that she probably knows a few, very important people.
