After the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy, New York City has pulled together as a community to help rebuild -- and the music world has been no different. Most recently, Kanye West and Alicia Keys have been confirmed for a benefit show to be held at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 12.

The line up also includes big names like Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and Billy Joel. The event is organized by Clear Channel, the Weinstein Group and the Madison Square Garden Company -- the same trifecta that put together the "Concert For New York City" following 9/11.

Other recent Sandy-related benefit concerts include the NBC telethon which also included Springsteen and Joel -- both East Coast natives. The indie rock community is also hosting a concert this weekend that features Real Estate, Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, and the Dirty Projectors.

The proceeds from the "12-12-12" show will go to the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which is working with organizations in the tri-state area who were hit hardest by the storm. Information on how to purchase tickets for the Madison Square Garden show will be available in the following days, so stay tuned!
