K-Ci, Chrisette Michele, Lalah Hathaway & Eddie Levert Rock the Soul Cypher at 2015 Soul Train Awards [VIDEO]

R&B songbirds Chrisette Michele and Lalah Hathaway along with veteran crooners Eddie Levert and K-Ci (of Jodeci) rocked the first-ever Soul Cypher at the 2015 Soul Train Awards, which aired Sunday (Nov. 29) on BET.

The annual cyphers that have taken place at the BET Hip Hop Awards have become one of the highlights of the show over the past few years. Cyphers may be associated with hip-hop but a few singers decided to turn the tables and partake in the first Soul Cypher at the star-studded affair and the result was a hogepodge of harmony.

The singing quartet all turned in enthralling performances with the show's host Erykah Badu serving up beats on the turntables as DJ Low Down Loretta Brown.

Michele sets it off, singing soulful lyrics over Mobb Deep's "Shook Ones" beat. K-Ci follows up with the first verse from the Jodeci classic, "Come and Talk to Me," much to the crowd's approval.

Hathaway then takes the mic to croon the urgent words from “Little Ghetto Boy," a song by her late father, the legendary Donny Hathaway, before handing it off to Eddie Levert, who finishes off the cypher with his slightly raspy tenor. The foursome then all came together to harmonize their way into an outro by Ms. Badu.

The first Soul Cypher was a resounding success and is sure to be the start of a mainstay performance at the Soul Train Awards.
