John Legend’s touching new video for “Love Me Now” comes at an important time in the wake of current events this past week.

Shot by Nabil Elderkin, the visual features couples from various locations throughout the world like Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Fla., Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and Domiz Refugee Camp in Northern Iraq. All of these areas are currently embroiled in turmoil and definitely need some love to shine through.

In the middle of it all is Legend, his wife, Chrissy Teigen, and their beautiful daughter Luna. As the R&B piano man sings his heartfelt words, Teigen is visually caught up in the rapture of his love.

“This video shows how love can be shared in some of the most difficult situations on earth in which the human spirit and connection with each other prevails,” said Nabil of the clip (quotes via HuffPost). “From one of the longest standing refugee camps in northern Iraq just 45 miles outside of Mosul, to Standing Rock Reservation where they are fighting against the Dakota Access Pipeline that threatens their sacred lands and all of our water, it is a glimpse into these couples’ lives and the lives of those in their communities.”

Legend’s new album, Darkness and Light is due out on Dec. 2. The collection boasts a rap cameo form Chance the Rapper and features a dedication to the couple’s daughter Luna called “Right by You.”

“It’s my best work yet,” John Legend promised to his fans.
