Remember when Kendrick Lamar got everyone talking two weeks ago with his tenacious verse on Big Sean's 'Control'? Of course you do. So why did it take Joey Bada$$ this long to respond?

Early this morning (Aug. 26), the Pro Era spitter uploaded a gruff new track, 'Killuminati Pt. 2,' that mostly addresses Lamar's line about being the king of New York. Of course, this had some rap heads up in arms because he's from Compton, Calif. and not New York City. But others looked at the line as merely being a statement about hip-hop in general considering that's the city where the genre was born.

On this cut, Bada$$ notes that he can't just let that "king of New York" line go unnoticed while stating the following on the hook: "But f--k it, I'm Biggie, I'm L, I'm Pun/ I'm God's Son, I'm Pac, Guru, all rolled in one." He also takes a more direct shot in the second verse, rapping through his teeth, "I'm the real king fella here/ You more like, Prince of Bel Air."

You can hear the track below.
